West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to meet 20 Lok Sabha MPs of Nationalist Citizens Party Of India (NCPI), who parted away from the TMC.
It is the first interaction between the CM and the NCPI MPs since the party joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
NCPI leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay announced that the meeting will focus on development work in the MP’s constituency and rebuild the party workers allegedly displaced after the BJP came to power in West Bengal on May 4.
The party has highlighted that the discussion is focused on improving governance and addressing public concern.
“The agenda of the meeting is development in our respective parliamentary constituencies. A large number of our party workers are still homeless after the change of government. We want them to be brought back to their homes,” – Sudip Bandyopadhyay
Political observers believe that the meeting may also include better coordination between the state government and the MPs on development projects.
In conclusion, this meeting is expected to show how the BJP-led state government and the newest parliamentary ally will work together in the months ahead.
