In a milestone for neurological care, Eli Lilly has officially introduced Lormalzi (donanemab) to the Indian market as of May 2026. As the first “disease-modifying” therapy available domestically, the drug marks a departure from symptom management by actively removing amyloid plaques from the brain. Priced at ₹91,688 per vial, the intravenous infusion is administered every four weeks and can potentially be stopped once plaque clearance is achieved. With India’s dementia cases projected to more than double by 2036, the CDSCO-approved treatment, supported by a specialized “alternative access program,” represents a critical shift toward active medical intervention for the country’s aging population.
