The Jharkhand government and protecting students are expected to hold talks to find the solution to the ongoing protest over irregularities in exams conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
Student protest group has formed an 11 member to represent the protesters. The team includes eight students, two journalists and one advocate.
On the government side, a three-member delegation has been formed with one representative each from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JJM), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), The Congress.
The meeting was expected to happen on Thursday evening but it has not taken yet.
The protest has also affected the Monsoon Season of the Jharkhand assembly. BJP MLAs wore marks and demanded from the government over the irregularities. The party has also called for CBI investigation into the matter as they belive students have lost trust in the state government inquiry.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren recently met Governor Santosh Gangwar and guaranteed him that the government is faithful to give justice to the students. He also said injustice would not be allowed and necessary action would be taken.
So far 16 people have been arrested who were involved in paper leak.
State Minister Sudivya kumar said the government is serious about solving the problem and welcome students to hold talk.
Student group have announced protest near Assembly on August 7 and 10.
The government has imposed restrictions within a 750 meter area around the Assembly from August 6 to 12 to maintain laws and orders.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed his support for the students. He said the education system is facing serious problems in the country and that every government should listen to students and work towards improving the system.
