The government has agreed to a 16-hour-long debate in Parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, but next week, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from an overseas visit. The decision was taken after the first day of the Monsoon Session on Monday was washed out in both Houses, with the Congress-led Opposition disrupting the proceedings seeking a discussion on the terror attack and the conflict with Pakistan.

The first day of the Parliament’s Monsoon Session on Monday was completely disrupted that’s why this decision was made.The Congress party and other opposition groups stopped all activity in both houses, demanding an immediate discussion about the terror attack and the ongoing conflict with Pakistan.
The opposition parties want to discuss the terror attack and the conflict with Pakistan before Parliament deals with anything else.
Sources say the ruling party explained during a meeting that the opposition specifically wants Prime Minister Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to be present for the debate.Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to leave for UK and Maldives on Wednesday so the debate is scheduled for next week.
The government wants to prioritize discussing a new Income Tax. Nevertheless the opposition hasn’t decided if they’ll allow this until they’ve discussed the Pahalgam attack and “Operation Sindoor.”
Congress leader K.C. Venugopal told reporters that they want to discuss the Pahalgam attack because it’s a very important issue. He also said, “We are proud of our country. The Prime Minister should come and speak about it.
