Prime Minister Narendra Modi would raise a massive saffron flag on top of the recently built Ram Temple in Ayodhya, marking the finalization of the temple and a new era in the history of neither the city nor the country as a whole in terms of spirituality and culture. 

The event, which will be hosted by”the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, is scheduled to be attended by major personalities, such as President Droupadi Murmu and great seers and saints of the entire India. Approximately, 8,000 invitees will be part of the event representing various aspects of the society and faith communities. There are meticulous security arrangements underway and only invited guests are allowed to enter inside the temple complex during the day of the ceremony. Devotees of Krishna will restart the regular darshan on the next day. 

The hoisted flag will be a 21 ft. high saffron banner on a special 360 rotating chamber that will be able to withstand heavy winds and weather changes. The flag is about 11 kilograms in weight and it will be fixed on a 42-foot pole on the 161-foot temple spire. The scale and technical complexity has led to the assistance of the army officers in the rehearsals so as to have an impeccable execution. It coincides with the Vivah panchami, the festival of the marriage of goddess Sita and Lord Ram, which also gives it some spiritual meaning. 

The Ayodhya will be decorated with the decorations, saffron flags, flowers and lights in order to celebrate the completion of the temple and the Vivah Panchami festival. It will include Vedic rites, bhajan-kirtan, recitations of Ramayana and tableau of the marriage between Ram and Sita. Not only a ceremonial activity, hoisting of the flag is regarded as a religious announcement to believers to indicate to those who are ready to worship in the temple.

The saffron flag measures 21 feet in height, and it weighs 11 kg and it will also be mounted on a specially designed rotating pole.

Five days of Vedic ceremonies were followed, and it was upgraded with new security and crowd control. The flag-hoisting operations have been very crucial with the support of army officers. The historic event will become the defining event of Ayodhya, the Hindu religion, and followers across the world, and it will be a centuries-old dream coming to life.
