Congress leader Rahul Gandhi used a major youth outreach programme in Rajasthan’s Kota on Wednesday to launch a sharp critique of India’s education system, arguing that students and their families are spending enormous amounts on competitive examinations while receiving little assurance of quality education or employment in return.
Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday criticised Congress leader Sachin Pilot and stated that the incidents that unfolded in September 2022 were not a revolt against the party high command but an indication of strong disagreement among the MLAs against Pilot’s elevation as the CM.
The Rajasthan government has recently passed a law known as the Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2025. The law aims to stop religious conversions that takes place through force, fraud or trick . Supporters say it will protect vulnerable people from being pressurised into changing their religion whereas critics fear it could be misused and may affect religious freedom.
Quoting a recent report of internationally acclaimed Human Rights Watch, West Bengal chief minister slammed BJP-led Centre for harassment of Bengalis tagging them with Bangladeshis. She referred the HRW findings in her X handle post reports of harassment of Bengalis in Haryana.
