Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an official invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to attend the upcoming Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, as per media reports. However, PM Modi will not attend in person. Instead, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh will represent India at the high-level summit.

The Israeli administration has approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, representing a crucial move towards concluding the conflict in Gaza. This deal, facilitated by US President Donald Trump, seeks to provide relief to the beleaguered Gaza Strip and enable the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

Israel has also opened a new evacuation route to Gaza City, a 48-hour movement of people to move south along Salahudin Road. For many, it is a lifeline. It is a sad decision between the unknown and the unbearable to other people.

Israel has said it will begin moving Palestinians from Gaza City to the south of the territory starting Sunday, in what it describes as an evacuation from “combat zones.” The announcement was made by the army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, who said tents and shelters would be provided with help from the United Nations and aid groups. However, the UN has not confirmed its role in the plan.
