Having won an overwhelming victory with 200-odd seats in its bag, BJP has decided to reach out to the Bengal youth. And the initiative has come from the very top with BJP national president Nitin Nabin participating in an interactive session with different sections of the youth recently
Nabin who became the BJP chief this year was on a two day tour of West Bengal. The programme, named Yuba Bharat Sankalp assumed further importance, with the presence of chief minister, Subhendu Adhikari.
Interaction with about 500 youth, Nabin asked them to meet Adhikari later. Have a cup of tea with the chief minister, he said.
The BJP has decided to give greater priority to the youth after the rise of Cockroach Janata Party. The BJP leadership trained its sight on this state noting that CJP has not much presence here yet.
While interacting with the youth in a city club, the BJP national chief suggested that the chief minister involve the youth in culture, sports and arts. This can be done by introducing these topics as optional subjects in the new syllabus.
He had earlier said that the people of this state had sports, arts, culture in their DNA. The children should be more in the playing fields to reduce their attachment to mobile phones.
The words of Nitin Nabin cannot.be stated to be part of a brain washing session. He has spoken unlike a political leader seeking to add to its flock.
His audience were not school children, yet to form their opinion. Participants to Nabin’s meeting were from diverse sections such as law, management and research.
But the very nature of the audience to the BJP chief’s meeting is a pointer that they are thinking individuals. Sans bias and political preaching, his words are likely to sink in.
Not even his strongest critics in the Opposition can accuse Nabin of trying to spread his political ideology among the youth. In fact, the top BJP leader sounded more like a social scientist
