UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has clearly stated that there will be no increase in visa opportunities for highly skilled Indian workers, despite pressure from business leaders. Speaking on his way to Mumbai to promote the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed in July, Starmer insisted that easing immigration rules “isn’t part of the plans.”
Pakistan’s latest attempt to brand the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its armed wing, the Majeed Brigade, as terrorist organisations at the United Nations has run into a roadblock. The United States, the United Kingdom, and France have placed what is called a “technical hold” on the proposal, saying that the BLA cannot be linked directly to global terror networks like Al Qaeda or ISIS — a requirement under the UN’s sanctions committee rules.
India and United Kingdom has signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to enhance bilateral trade by $34 billion annually. The deal was formalised in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK premier Keir Starmer.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the UK on July 23rd and 24th, 2025. This trip is at the invitation of the UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer. It will be Prime Minister Modi’s fourth time visiting the UK.
