A special CBI court in Alipore has officially framed charges against Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, and four others in a major corruption case. The charges, framed on July 14, include criminal conspiracy, cheating, breach of trust, forgery, and corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The court has scheduled the trial to begin on July 22, 2025.
The Calcutta High Court will hear an appeal made by the accused of the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sanjay Roy. The HC on Wednesday said they’ll hear the case on July 16.
The plea made by the RG Kar rape victim’s parents have been rejected by the city court on Wednesday. The petition have been filed by the RG Kar rape-murder victim’s parents to allow their lawyer to visit the crime spot.
