The attacker, who made a failed assassination attempt on the life of ruling National Conference president and three-time former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah at a marriage function in Jammu, has told police during investigation that he wanted to kill Abdullah from last 20 years.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that the restoration of the historic Darbar Move tradition after four years will significantly boost Jammu’s economy and reinforce unity between Jammu and Srinagar.
The authorities on Sunday (July 13, 2025) detained the leaders of several regional parties, including ruling National Conference (NC) and Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to stop them from visiting the graveyard of deceased 22 civilians who died during an uprising against the Dogra king in 1931 on this day.
