Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati officially launched her party’s Brahmin outreach campaign in Lucknow on June 22, 2026, by declaring that the BSP will field upper-caste candidates for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections to replicate her historic 2007 victory.
Senior leaders of the Congress triggered political speculation in Uttar Pradesh after a group of party leaders made an unannounced visit to the residence of BahujanSamaj Party chief Mayawati in Lucknow. However, the leaders were reportedly denied entry by security personnel as no prior appointment had been scheduled.
It has been a little more than two months when Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati expelled her nephew Akash Anand from the party. But it has been a month when he returned to BSP and has now been appointed the party’s chief national coordinator.
