After the Trinamul Congress (TMC) and the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced that it would not participate in the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to examine three Bills seeking the removal of the Prime Minister and chief ministers. The Opposition alleges that the Bills are aimed at “bringing down” non-BJP governments.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme at her camp office in Civil Lines on Wednesday morning, her office said, terming the assault part of a “well-planned conspiracy to kill her”.
The announcement was made on Saturday, marking a dramatic turn in Delhi’s political landscape. Addressing the media, Goel, who contested the Delhi Assembly elections from Adarsh Nagar on an AAP ticket earlier this year but lost, confirmed the split and said the new party would work for the betterment of the people of Delhi.
