Former Minister of Education of India, Smriti Irani joins back to her career in TV Serials. With more than 22 years of experience in politics, former Union Minister, Smriti Irani shocked everyone with the announcement of her returning in the serial “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”. She is reprising the same role as Tulsi Virani with a limited series reboot.
Smriti Irani decided to make a comeback as she had never done any OTT before and wanted to go to an “observation mode with an expectation to act”. She also felt while communicating with writers, actors and creative directors, everyone asked more about politics than her media career. She also said “My political and acting life were far from each other … Now both worlds are coming together”.
However her political career made her more prominent and tended to see her more as a minister than an actor. She was a national secretary twice, national president of the (BJP) Mahila Morcha. She has also done legislation across five ministries along with a decade of political history in Amethi. She is also the youngest minister under the Modi government.
Smriti Irani mentioned, the serial showcased the Gujarati family with an amalgamation of cultures. The storyline was created mindfully so that the audience can relate with it. According to her, “It is very easy to do reality, but very difficult to convey realities through a made-up, fictional act”.
