A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has begun its inquiry into allegations of irregularities in the management of donations received by the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The team, constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, visited the temple premises and examined financial records as part of the investigation.
The SIT includes senior administrative, police, and finance officials and has been tasked with conducting a detailed probe into the allegations. Officials said the investigation will focus on verifying claims related to the handling and accounting of temple donations collected over the past few years.
Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra stated that the probe aims to ensure complete transparency and maintain public confidence in the temple administration. He emphasized that any shortcomings identified during the investigation would be addressed through appropriate corrective measures.
The controversy gained attention after allegations surfaced regarding possible discrepancies in donation management. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has expressed support for the investigation, stating that it welcomes efforts to establish the facts and uphold accountability.
Investigators reportedly reviewed records and questioned individuals associated with the donation collection and management process. The SIT is expected to submit its preliminary findings within a week, followed by a comprehensive report to the state government.
The outcome of the investigation is likely to have significant implications for the temple’s financial administration and future donation management practices.
