New Delhi, June 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a six-day official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to 18, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing strategic cooperation, and participating in the upcoming G7 Summit.
During the first leg of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold discussions with Emmanuel Macron in Nice and Evian, focusing on expanding cooperation in areas such as defence, innovation, technology, clean energy, trade, and cultural exchanges. The two leaders are also expected to review progress made under the India-France Strategic Partnership and explore new avenues of collaboration.
Prime Minister Modi will then travel to Slovakia, marking a significant high-level engagement between the two nations. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet Slovak leadership to discuss economic cooperation, investment opportunities, industrial partnerships, and people-to-people ties. The visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to India-Slovakia relations.
A key highlight of the tour will be Prime Minister Modi’s participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on June 16–17. Invited as an outreach partner, he is expected to present India’s perspective on global challenges, including economic growth, climate action, energy security, emerging technologies, and the priorities of the Global South.
The visit underscores India’s growing engagement with Europe and its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships while contributing to discussions on major global issues. Officials have described the trip as an important step toward deepening India’s relations with France, Slovakia, and leading global economies participating in the G7 forum.
