Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the UK on July 23rd and 24th, 2025. This trip is at the invitation of the UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer. It will be Prime Minister Modi’s fourth time visiting the UK.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will have many talks with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. They’ll discuss everything about the relationship between India and the UK. They’ll also share their thoughts on important issues happening around the region and the world.
Prime Minister Modi is also expected to meet with King Charles III. During the visit, both sides will also check on how well their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) is doing. They’ll specifically look at progress in trade and economy, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate, health, education, and connections between people.
In the second day of his visit Prime Minister will a visit Maldives. This trip is a State Visit and is happening because the President of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, invited him.
This will be the third time the Prime Minister  has visited the Maldives. It’s also the first time any  government will visit the Maldives since Dr. Mohamed Muizzu became President.
Prime Minister to Celebrate Maldives’ Independence and Strengthen Ties
During his visit, the Prime Minister will be the special guest at the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day celebration on July 26, 2025.
He’ll also meet with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to talk about things important to both countries. They’ll also check on the progress of the “Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership” plan. This plan was agreed upon when President Muizzu visited India in October 2024.
This visit shows how important India considers the Maldives, its neighbor across the sea. The Maldives is a key part of India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy and its “Vision MAHASAGAR” which mainly focuses on security and growth in the Indian Ocean region. This trip is a chance for both countries to make their relationship even deeper and better.
