Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky claimed on X(Tweeter) that Russia is using mercenaries from China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and various African countries to fight against Ukraine in the ongoing war. “We will respond” said Zelensky.
Zelensky claimed that during his visit to the frontline troops of Kharkiv region, he discovered that foreign mercenaries were fighting against the Ukrainian forces on the ground.
Accusations claimed by Ukraine were refuted by China and Pakistan.
Before these recent allegations Ukraine had accused Russia of using Chinese mercenaries in April 2025. Ukraine claimed that 150 Chinese mercenaries were fighting alongside Russia and Ukraine had captured 2 of them but China refuted those allegations as well.
