The Gujarat government has announced plans to construct a memorial park named ‘Sindoor Van’ near the Indo-Pak border in Kutch district. The initiative honors Operation Sindoor India’s retaliatory precision strikes targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 civilian lives. The park will span a sprawling 8 hectares in Mirzapar, Kutch and stand as testimony for the valor of the Indian Army and the nation’s unified stand against terrorism.

The Sindoor Van memorial park will feature separate sections dedicated to the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, celebrating their coordinated efforts during Operation Sindoor. The location of the site holds special significance as it is the place where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Gujarat post Operation Sindoor for the first time. PM Modi hailed the operation as a reflection of India’s resilience, he was all praises for the soldiers of the army and their valiant efforts. He also emphasized the strikes’ success in dismantling terror infrastructure in just 22 minutes.

The park’s development comes during heightened border security due to Pakistan Launching over 500 drones and missiles toward Gujarat during the India pakistan conflict, all neutralized by Indian forces. The government of Gujarat aims to complete the project within approximately 18 months, with plans to plant 10,000 trees per hectare. Although concerns have been raised about the success of such density in Kutch due to water scarcity. The memorial will serve as a tribute to both military personnel and civilians, reinforcing national unity.
