The Indian government has officially addressed growing concerns regarding a potential energy crisis caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas released a statement confirming that the country is well-prepared and has secured enough fuel to keep the nation running normally for a long period.
This announcement comes as a response to widespread rumors on social media that led to panic-buying and long queues at fuel stations in several cities.
Officials clarified that there is absolutely no need for citizens to rush to petrol pumps, as the supply chain remains robust and uninterrupted.
According to the latest data, India currently holds enough crude oil, petrol, and diesel to last for at least 60 days.
Even if global supplies were temporarily affected, the country’s current reserves and pre-arranged imports ensure stability for the next few months.
Furthermore, the government highlighted that India has significantly increased its own production of LPG, or cooking gas.
The country now produces more than half of its total requirement domestically, reducing its reliance on foreign imports. To add even more security, large shipments of gas are already on their way from various international partners including the United States and Russia.
The Ministry emphasized that all petrol pumps across the country are operating as usual and that no rationing or limits on fuel purchases have been put in place.
Authorities are also monitoring social media to stop the spread of fake news that causes public alarm.
The main message from the government is one of confidence: India’s energy security is firm, and the public should continue their daily routines without fear of a shortage.
