In recent briefing, DRDO Chief Dr. Samir V. Kamat highlighted the pivotal role of BrahMos missile and Akashteer defense systems to the success of “Operation Sindoor”.
BrahMos missile were used in the offensive phase which was launched from Sukhoi Mark 1 platform and Akashteer system, the anti-drone system, and MRSAM when it came to defensive weapon systems. The DRDO Chief added that, all of the sensors networked using Akashteer which helped them analyze upcoming threat and deploy right kind of weapon. He highlighted technological backbone that supported them.
Operation Sindoor, executed on 7th May served as India’s decisive response to Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The DRDO’s technological advancement during this operation underscore the growing prowess of India’s defense capabilities.
