Afghan teen survives 94 min flight hidden in aircraft wheel

A shocking incident took place when a 13-year-old boy from Afghanistan survived a dangerous flight from Kabul to Delhi by hiding inside the wheel well of the aircraft. The teenager belongs to Kunduz . He  secretly entered the restricted area of Kabul

airport and climbed into the landing gear compartment of a KAM Air flight.

The boy’s original plan was to reach Iran but he mistakenly boarded a flight heading to India. The journey was of around 94 minutes. The plane took off at 8:46 in the morning and landed in Delhi at 10:20.

The wheel area of an aircraft is not meant for people. It becomes extremely cold and has very little oxygen when the plane reaches high altitudes. Most people do not survive such attempts. It is believed that the boy was extremely lucky as the small space may have provided him some protection from the freezing temperatures and lack of air.

When the aircraft landed in Delhi then the security staff noticed the boy walking near the runway in a restricted zone. He was quickly stopped and taken into custody by airport security and immigration officers. The only thing he carried with him was a small red speaker.

After investigation officials decided to send the boy back to Afghanistan on the return flight of the same airline. The incident has raised concerns about airport security in Kabul and how such a young child was able to enter the aircraft unnoticed.

This rare survival story highlighted the desperation and risks that some children face. Traveling in a wheel well is extremely unsafe and often results in death due to harsh conditions. Authorities are now reviewing security procedures to ensure such incidents do not repeat in the future.
