US Strikes Multiple Targets in Iran After Tanker Attack Near Strait of Hormuz; Trump Warns He Will ‘Complete the Job’ if Ceasefire is Breached

Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated after Washington launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets following an alleged attack on a commercial tanker near the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump warned Tehran of further military action, saying Iran could face severe consequences if it continues to violate the fragile ceasefire agreement.

The latest strikes came after a tanker incident near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route. US officials accused Iran of being responsible for attacks on commercial vessels, while Tehran has rejected the allegations and criticised the American response.

According to reports, US forces targeted several Iranian military-related locations, including facilities linked to missile and drone capabilities, coastal surveillance systems and other defence infrastructure. The strikes were described by Washington as a response to what it called repeated violations of the ceasefire.

President Trump issued a strong warning after the attacks, stating that the US would take further action if Iran continued hostile activities. He said Washington was prepared to “complete the job” militarily if the ceasefire collapsed, while warning that Iran could face the loss of its current political structure if the conflict escalated further.

Iran condemned the US strikes, accusing Washington of undermining diplomatic efforts and escalating tensions in the region. Iranian officials warned that continued attacks could trigger further responses, increasing fears of a wider regional confrontation.

The developments have raised fresh concerns over the stability of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of global energy shipments pass. Any prolonged disruption in the region could affect international oil markets and increase geopolitical uncertainty.

The latest exchange of attacks has placed further pressure on ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at maintaining a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran. International observers have urged both sides to avoid further escalation and return to negotiations.
