Telegu superstar Mahesh Babu’s NGO gets FCRA nod at times when Centre stopped giving such recognition

Mahesh Babu is known to millions as a superstar of Telugu cinema, but off-screen, he carries a quieter role—one of compassion and service. Now, his humanitarian journey has taken a big leap forward. His NGO, Mahesh Babu Foundation, has received the much-awaited FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) approval, allowing it to accept donations from supporters around the world. For years, Mahesh and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, have been working behind the scenes, lending hope to children in need of heart surgeries and helping rural schools with better facilities. Many families who once thought medical care was out of reach now have their children smiling and healthy, thanks to their foundation’s work.

With this new approval, the ripple of kindness is set to travel even farther. Namrata, who actively manages the foundation, called the moment “a blessing.” She shared, “So many people from outside India have reached out to help us, and now they finally can. This means we’ll be able to reach more children, more families, and truly change more lives.” Unlike the glamour that surrounds cinema, this work is quiet and personal. Villagers remember Mahesh not just as a movie star, but as someone who ensured they had safe drinking water. Parents see him as the man who gave their child a second chance at life.

The FCRA nod is more than a legal stamp—it’s a doorway to spreading that impact on a much larger scale. At a time when celebrity charity work often feels like a publicity stunt, Mahesh Babu’s efforts have stood out for their sincerity and consistency. He may play superheroes on screen, but for countless families, he has already become one in real life. And now, with the world invited to join his cause, the story of hope is only just beginning.
