A guest teacher from Haryana was suspended by the Rohtak District Elementary Education Officer on 10 June 2026 after she participated in a massive protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at JantarMantar in New Delhi.
The teacher, identified as SulekhaDalal, had traveled from Rohtak to Delhi to join hundreds of students and young professionals on Saturday, 6 June 2026. The CJP-led protest was organized to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged paper leaks and widespread irregularities in national competitive and recruitment examinations.
According to the official order, the suspension took effect retroactively from 8 June 2026. The directive also stated that Dalal is not permitted to leave her station without prior government approval. While senior education officials later mentioned that the action was taken due to a violation of employee conduct rules, the official letter handed to her surprisingly omitted any specific reason for the immediate disciplinary action.
A speech delivered by Dalal during the JantarMantar demonstration had previously gone viral on social media platforms, drawing attention to her presence at the political rally. In the video, she spoke out passionately in support of the students.
Responding to her suspension, Dalal clarified to reporters that she did not attend the event as a member of any political organization. Instead, she described herself as a deeply concerned mother whose graduate son had been directly impacted by the recent exam scandals and recruitment delays. Dalal expressed shock over her sudden suspension, stating that she was merely sharing a mother’s pain and was unaware that attending such a gathering was prohibited. She has formally requested the department to provide a clear explanation for the action.
