Old Malda, May 30: The newly elected BJP MLA from the Malda Assembly constituency, Gopal
Chandra Saha, was felicitated by the Malda Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce at Rajiv Gandhi
Municipal Market in Mangalbari, Old Malda, on Saturday.The programme began with members
of the Chamber of Commerce paying tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by
garlanding his bust installed at the market premises. Following the tribute, the newly elected
MLA was warmly welcomed and honoured by representatives of the local business community.
A large number of traders, businessmen, local residents and political supporters attended the
event. Speakers congratulated Gopal Chandra Saha on his electoral victory and expressed
confidence that he would work towards the overall development of the constituency. They also
highlighted the need for improved infrastructure, better civic amenities and measures to
strengthen local trade and commerce.In his address, the MLA thanked the people of the
constituency for their support and assured them of his commitment to addressing public issues
