Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman on June 5, 2026, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for massive development projects worth over ₹21,700 crore. The Prime Minister’s highly anticipated visit aims to boost regional infrastructure, healthcare, and economic connectivity across South Gujarat and neighbouring territories. He will carry out these official ceremonies through major public events scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening in both Surat and Daman.
The official visit is heavily focused on upgrading public infrastructure and enhancing the ease of living for citizens. The major events are structured across two main locations Surat, Gujarat (₹18,800 Crore Projects),The Prime Minister will first visit Hazira to review industrial operations. He will then dedicate Sections VI and VII of the major Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway to the nation to improve high-speed travel. Additionally, he will launch a new 200-bed hospital to provide better healthcare for local workers and lay foundation stones for highway expansions leading to tribal areas. Daman (₹2,970 Crore Projects), Later in the evening, the Prime Minister will travel to Daman to inaugurate the brand new terminal building of the NAMO Airport, which will greatly improve local air travel. He will also officially open the NAMO District Hospital, built to serve nearly 1,500 outdoor patients daily, and lay foundation stones for a new convention centre and an engineering campus.
Alongside the projects in Gujarat and Daman, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for four important development projects for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep worth ₹885 crore, focusing on expanding port facilities.
Local authorities have made strict security arrangements in both regions to welcome the Prime Minister. These mega-projects are expected to cut down travel times, create new jobs, and significantly improve the quality of healthcare and industrial growth across western India.
