Lalu’s daughter Rohini accused brother Tejashwi & his close aides for RJD’s defeat in Bihar

After quitting politics and disowning her own family, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter once again hit out at the close aides of party leader and her brother Tejashwi Yadav.

A day after the debacle in the Bihar Assembly election, Ms. Acharya on Saturday (November 15, 2025) blamed Mr. Yadav’s close aides Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan for the humiliating defeat.

Sanjay is the Rajya Sabha MP and also the political adviser to Mr. Yadav whereas Mr. Rameez is said to be Mr. Yadav’s old friend who hails from a political family in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.

In an emotional message on Sunday (November 16,2025), Ms. Acharya wrote on her social media account ‘X’ saying, “Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, filthy abuses were hurled at her, a slipper was raised to hit her. I did not compromise on my self-respect, I did not surrender the truth, and solely because of this, I had to endure this insult.”

She further said, “Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home, they left me orphaned, may none of you ever walk my path, may no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini.”

Ms. Acharya also alleged that she was cursed at for donating a “dirty kidney” to her father “in exchange for crores of rupees and a Lok Sabha ticket. She contested from Saran in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

She said no daughters and sisters should save their father, let that responsibility be fulfilled by brothers and sons.

Even on November 15, Ms. Acharya blamed Mr. Sanjay and Mr. Rameez for the poll debacle by writing a post on social media.

At Patna airport, when media asked her about her cryptic post on Saturday (November 15, 2025) night, Ms. Acharya said she has no family and media can better ask this to Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Mr. Rameez Nemat Khan and Mr. Tejashwi Yadav.

She blamed them for throwing her out of the family and that they also did not want to take any responsibility for the failure.

To discuss the poor performance of the party, Mr. Tejashwi Yadav has called a review meeting with all RJD candidates and elected MLAs on Monday (November 17).

According to a party official, the meeting will be chaired by Mr. Tejashwi Yadav and will comprehensively review all important points related to the election results and organisational activities.

Reacting to the episode, JD(U) MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar taunted Mr. Lalu Prasad and asked him to intervene as his daughter expressed her pain.

“It seems Lalu Prasad ji has been held hostage in his own house. Why is he not reacting to this serious issue? Lalu ji must report this to the Patna District Magistrate in the same way she has levelled allegations against some people in her social media post,” Mr. Kumar said.

Bihar BJP spokesperson Prabhakhar Mishra termed the incident unfortunate asserting that the daughter who donated her kidney to the father is forced to leave the family and politics.

“If such things are happening with the daughter of Lalu ji then, we all can understand what would be the value of the party workers in the RJD. Why are outsiders being given so much respect in the party? This situation may be the outcome of the humiliating defeat in the Assembly election,” Mr. Mishra said.

Settled in Singapore, Ms. Acharya was in Bihar during the Assembly election and returned on November 15. She was in the limelight when she donated her kidney to her ailing father who was suffering from multiple diseases on December 5, 2022. She is married to Rao Samresh Singh with two sons and one daughter.

Another veteran and socialist leader Shivanand Tiwari who is longer associated with the RJD expressed his anger by writing a post on his Facebook page saying, “Tejashwi not only removed me from the position of Vice President but also denied me a place in the executive committee. Why? Because I suggested him to hit the streets with Rahul Gandhi over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list which was a conspiracy against democracy. I asked him to fight back, face police beatings and go to jail.”

Mr. Tiwari further said, “But he was taking the oath of office as Chief Minister in his dream world. I was disrupting his dreams by shaking him up. Lalu Prasad, like Dhritrashtra, was warming the throne for his son.”
