India Urges Dialogue Amid West Asia Strikes

On June 8, 2026  the Government of India  urgently called for immediate de-escalation and a diplomatic resolution through an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi . This critical appeal was made in response to renewed missile and military strikes between Israel and Iran , which shattered a fragile peace and threatened to spark a wider regional war. India pressed all involved nations to halt violence and safeguard civilians by returning to the negotiation table to restore stability .

The recent exchange of fire marks a dangerous escalation after a temporary ceasefire collapsed. According to international updates, Iranian forces launched a barrage of missiles toward major Israeli cities, triggering retaliatory military strikes from Israel on central and western Iran. The MEA expressed deep regret over these attacks, labeling the situation a matter of “utmost concern” for the global community.

The Indian government emphasized that the conflict has now lasted for over 100 days. It has caused massive human suffering, alongside heavy damage to the global economy and energy supply chains. Geopolitical analysts warn that further violence could severely disrupt oil shipments through the critical Strait of Hormuz, raising fuel prices and inflation worldwide. Furthermore, an oil tanker carrying 24 Indian crew members recently faced a suspected attack in the region, raising domestic security anxieties.

In light of the escalating violence, India has prioritized the safety of its citizens abroad. The Indian embassies in Tehran and Tel Aviv issued urgent travel advisories. Indian nationals residing in Iran have been strongly urged to leave the country immediately using any available commercial transport, while those in Israel have been told to stay highly vigilant. New Delhi continues to advocate for peaceful dialogue, maintaining that sustained diplomacy is the only viable path to long-term stability in West Asia.
