US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, stating that a “third wave” of military strikes is on the way. This follows a series of joint attacks by the US and Israel that have already targeted Iran’s top leadership and military systems.
Speaking from the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Trump claimed that the first two waves of attacks were highly successful. He stated that “everything’s been knocked out” in Iran, including their navy, air force, and radar detection systems.
According to the President, these strikes have left the country with almost no way to defend its skies or waters.A major focus of these attacks has been the removal of Iran’s leadership.
President Trump noted that many of the figures the US was watching are now dead. He mentioned that a second hit took place while Iranian officials were meeting to choose new leaders. “Most of the people we had in mind are dead,” Trump told reporters, adding that any new group attempting to take power might also be gone based on recent reports.
The conflict has also led to retaliation. Iran has targeted US military bases in the Middle East, and groups like Hezbollah have launched strikes against Israel.
While there has been confusion over why the war started, Trump explained that he acted to prevent Iran from attacking first. “I didn’t want that to happen,” he said, suggesting he may have forced the situation to protect his allies.
As the US prepares for the “third wave” of strikes, the primary goal remains to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities and change the current government.
